ELF has been associated with some of the greatest victories in the history of motor sports, including endurance races. This type of race, at the origin of motor sports competitions, is considered as a real guarantee of reliability for the manufacturers and their partners. In 1978, during the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race, ELF accompanied the Renault Alpine V6 under number 2 to victory. Jean-Pierre Jaussaud and Didier Pironi won the overall classification.
